This monument to Thomas Jefferson was dedicated on the 200th anniversary of his birth by President Franklin Roosevelt in 1943. Located on the south bank of the Tidal Basin and surrounded by decorative cherry trees, the Beaux Arts memorial is modeled after the Pantheon.
