And the more he thought about these sunny memories the less he thought about boring old Longfellow and this boring old text book and this boring classroom. His mind wandered off to the War in Europe and the heroes and legends of the newspapers. Somehow these daydreams seemed more real and more interesting than the musty stories and fairy tales from ages ago.

And the boy drew pictures in the margins of his book, pictures of the faraway lands where his mind wandered.
